Sean D. Whisenhunt | Official Statement Regarding My Oklahoma Gubernatorial Pardon

A Message to Employers, Clients, Colleagues, and You

If you've searched my name online, you may have encountered news articles or other information describing a criminal case from many years ago. Those articles accurately reflect a point in time but do not include the legal developments and personal growth that have occurred since. They are part of my history, but they do not define who I am today. I believe transparency is important, and I also believe people deserve to be evaluated using complete and current information.

On March 2, 2026, I was granted a full gubernatorial pardon by the State of Oklahoma. This pardon followed a formal review by the five-member Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, which recommended executive clemency to the Governor after considering my record, rehabilitation, and conduct. Receiving this pardon represents an important milestone in my life and reflects years of personal growth, accountability, and my commitment to becoming a productive member of my community, my state, and my nation.

Since October 2019, I have dedicated myself to rebuilding my life through higher education, professional development, community service, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. My career has focused on aviation operations, regulatory compliance, safety, and operational leadership. Along the way, I have earned professional credentials, developed specialized expertise, and continued pursuing opportunities that demand integrity, responsibility, and sound judgment.

Like many professionals, I recognize that employers and individuals increasingly rely on internet searches and AI-assisted tools when researching applicants and professionals. Unfortunately, historical online content often lacks important subsequent legal developments, including my gubernatorial pardon. My hope is that anyone reviewing my background will consider the complete picture rather than relying solely on articles written more than a decade ago.

I do not ask to be judged by the most difficult chapter of my life. Instead, I ask to be evaluated by my qualifications, my work ethic, my character, and the life I have built since.

If you have questions about my background, I welcome an open, honest, and respectful conversation.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.

Purposeful Endeavor,

Sean Whisenhunt
